A Very Doggo Dinner Party: Tales from the Art Haux Homewares Collection

It all started when Afghan the Afghan Hound decided to host a “Homewares & Howls” soirée. Naturally, she sent out custom-illustrated Alaskan Malamute tote bags as invitations—because nothing says RSVP like a fluff-printed carryall.

The guest list was as long as a greyhound’s stride.

First to arrive was Beagle, nose-first, carrying a Cavalier Spaniel tea towel tied around her neck like a cape. She sniffed out the snacks immediately—mostly liver-flavoured biscuits served on Dalmatian print placemats, of course.

Boston Terrier rocked up wearing a French Bulldog hoodie. “I’m supporting local artists,” he barked smugly, sipping espresso from a Shih Tzu mug. Nearby, Bullmastiff spilled half a bowl of dog beer onto the Chihuahua napkins, but honestly, no one expected less.

Then came Boxer, bouncing in with contagious energy and a Greyhound pillow tucked under one arm. “It’s not mine,” he said. “It’s for vibes.” Meanwhile, the Chow Chow lounged across the couch like royalty on a Whippet throw pillow, silently judging everyone with his fluff-powered sass.

In the kitchen, Corgi was “helping” stir something suspicious in a mixing bowl. He wore a Pug apron and Akita Inu chef’s hat, which no one had authorized. Border Collie, clipboard in paw, was desperately trying to enforce structure, yelling, “No licking the placemats!” as the Great Dane and Dachshund played tug-of-war with a Labrador napkin.

Out back, Afghan gave a speech (she loves a spotlight). “Thank you all for embracing the paw-sibilities of lifestyle design,” she said, raising her Golden Retriever wine glass. “Here’s to art, attitude, and accessories that don’t shed!”

Cue applause. The Bichon Frise tea towel was used as a streamer. A German Shepherd tote bag became a limbo stick. And someone turned a Staffy hoodie into a makeshift hammock.

Even the décor played along. Each dog brought a product with their breed on it—from the Papillon pillow in the hallway to the Rhodesian Ridgeback mug in the doghouse-turned-bar. The Yorkshire Terrier bowl served a mean guacamole. The Boxer cap was used to fan the flames of chaos.

By midnight, Rottweiler had knocked over the Poodle print vase, Bulldog was snoring under the table with a Jack Russell napkin draped like a blanket, and Samoyed was still prancing around saying, “I am the art.”

It was, as one Schnauzer put it, “a howling success.”

Moral of the story? If dogs were in charge of décor, every room would be covered in tail-wagging style. Our Art Haux homewares, gifts, and accessories celebrate every breed in bold, funny, functional ways. Perfect for gifting, displaying, or hosting your own (hopefully less chaotic) canine soirée.
